You would not want to sit with empty hands while the thing you want is in someone else's hands. You already know that feeling.
When the toy leaves their hands, it feels like the toy left the world.
Confucius said one word could guide a whole life. Do not put on someone else what you would not want put on you. The friend has that same feeling.
The toy is still the toy. It is still the thing they want. It is with the friend for a minute.
The friend sitting there with empty hands has that same feeling.
